School of Property, Construction & Project Management

Study tour to China

The School was funded by Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to organise a study tour to China. The objective was to see first hand building and construction in China and to understand how thermal comfort and sustainability were perceived by the Chinese. Ten students and three support staff visited Xuzhou and Shanghai in Jiangsu province. In Xuzhou, students had the opportunity to meet and interact with students and staff from the International College of China University of Mining and Technology. RMIT students from the third and fourth year of the Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) (Hons) program also worked alongside students in the second year from the Bachelor of Engineering (Major in Building Environment and Equipment Engineering). The students also had a friendly basket ball match, where RMIT students won 49 to 46.
